Damien Leonard Profile

2011 J.L. Mann High SG Damien Leonard went out the same way we saw him first four years ago as an eighth grader, with a bang and a victory. The 6'4 South Carolina signee powered the South Carolina All-Stars to a 87-84 victory over their North Carolina counterparts on Saturday in Socastee during the Carolinas All-Star Basketball Classic.

Leonard whose reputation was well known by his teammates and opponents didn't disappoint in the all-star environment. The future Gamecock poured in a game record 35 points in the win over the Tar Heel all-stars. Leonard drained the game winning 3-pointer with just 5 seconds left in the game.

On the night SCPrepNation.com had him unofficially going 8-17 from 3-point range and 11-25 overall from the field.

The South Carolina boys squad had dropped 3 of the last 4 contests against North Carolina previously.

Leonard has continued to be a deadly marksman from the perimeter and it will be interesting to see how his career continues to develop under the tutelage of Darrin Horn and his staff in Columbia.
