Raymond Smith Profile

College coaches continue to make their rounds during spring practices and Dorman High School is a routine stop for many programs. One of Dorman's top prospects is 2012 RB Raymond Smith. The 5'8 185 pound prospect has a tremendous blend of speed and power which makes him a player to covet.

Smith journeyed to the Badger Sport South Showcase at Bamberg-Ehrhardt High School a few weeks ago and emerged with the most outstanding running back award. Battling a strong group of backs Smith put on a show and won the award voted upon by the coaching staff. Some of his testing numbers below reaffirm why we're so high on the youngster.

Badger Sport South Showcase Testing Numbers
40 Yard Dash: 4.58 seconds
Pro Shuttle: 4.24 seconds
Broad Jump: 9'6"
Bench Press (185 lbs): 24 reps

Accumulating almost 2,000 yards last season rushing and receiving Smith powered his team to the AAAA Division 1 state championship game again this past season losing to Byrnes. Since we last spoke to Smith some new schools have stepped up and entered the picture. He told us what schools have told him they'd be by to see him this spring.

"Tennessee, Wofford, South Carolina, Duke, and Clemson are coming to see me they've said."

Holy Cross is another new school Smith says has been showering him with attention.

Schools like Army, Clemson, Duke Harvard, Navy, Princeton, Louisville, and North Carolina are still in contact with the talented back as well.

Smith does his due diligence in the classroom as well as he reported a 3.7 overall GPA with a 3.3 core.

With the Dorman attack gearing up for another run at a state championship after winning it all 2 seasons ago expect Smith to continue to pile up big numbers and start adding some offers to his resume before long as well.
