Nikeem Ladson Profile

One of the state's biggest sleepers is 2012 Wade Hampton DT Nikeem Ladson. The 6'3 270 pound prospect came on strong last season and he's carried that progress over into the off season. The in-state powers and other regional programs are keeping close tabs on him and we caught up with Ladson to talk about it all.

"I went to Georgia's Dawg Night last week. I think I did down there."

That may not be Ladson's only stop as he may camp with another SEC school this week.

"Yeah I may be going to South Carolina's Showcase tomorrow."

Ladson says the Gamecocks and Clemson have been showing him the most love thus far and keeping close tabs on him. He informed us that he's camped with both in-state schools earlier this summer.

"Clemson's coaches said that they want to see how well I have progressed since the end of last season."

"South Carolina is sending me a lot of letters and stuff still. I went to their spring practice and spring game a while back."

Still waiting on his first offer Ladson admitted that the first school to offer may very well get an immediate decision.

"I would commit early if I got the right offer."

Looking ahead to his senior season a couple of games on the schedule already have his attention he says.

"I'm really looking forward to playing Blue Ridge and Greenville this year."

This summer Ladson has worked hard in the weight room to prepare for what he hopes is a monster senior season. Ladson has lost 20 pounds and is now carrying 270 pounds on his 6'3 frame. That weight loss should prove well as far as his speed and stamina is concerned.

Ladson says spring practice went very well for he and the Generals. The rising senior prospect is confident that the squad will have another strong showing too.

"We should go undefeated this year."
