Shun Tribble Profile
We visited Woodruff last Friday to check ou the Wolverines as they hosted the Chesnee Eagles. The high powered Wolverine offense proved to be way too much for Chesnee as Woodruff emerged with a 49-7 victory. We had him down for 13 carries and 118 yards with 2 touchdowns in limited action. We caught up with senior running back Shun Tribble to talk about the state of his recruitment currently.
Tribble already holds 3 scholarship offers from Gardner-Webb, Georgia Southern, and Newberry after rushing for 1,975 yards last season as a junior.
"I'd say right now Georgia Southern is showing me the most love out of everyone."
Still early in his senior season Tribble says he hasn't lined up any visits yet but that he would like to visit Wake Forest, Tennessee, and a couple of other schools before long.
Piling up so many yards last season many teams have been keying on the Woodruff back which only opens up the passing game for the Wolverines. Having earned the respect of his opponents Tribble doesn't mind because his team continues to win and more.
"Yes sir I take pride in teams respecting my abilities. This allows other players such as Hermundre Rutledge and Blake Bone to showcase their skills and make huge plays for us."
Although the wins are still most important for Tribble and his Wolverines he says he still feels the best is yet to come for him.
"Personally I feel that I have a lot more to offer for my team. But I'm being patient because eventually it'll open up for me. As a team we are doing pretty good, but I know we can get better we must continue being focused and take it game by game."
Although Tribble hasn't picked up any additional offers since we last spoke a number of new schools are in the mix and he's got strong interest in a number of new schools as well like Georgia, Purdue, Tennessee, Florida State, and Miami.
Tribble talked about his mindset with this being his senior season.
"I want my last game to be my best game! I don't want to lose any games and I want the fans to remember this 2011 football team for a lifetime."
The 2012 prospect said that last year Chesnee's Nathan Moore was the toughest player he faced. Having just faced Moore again he gave us his thoughts about the impressive Chesnee prospect.
"He understands the game. He gives so much effort and plays with passion on every play. I feel that he has a great work ethic simply because he gives it his all night in and night out."
Tribble told us that on the two part SAT he scored a 980 but with the three part his total score was a 1300.
