Things have evolved rather quickly for 2013 White Knoll High tight end Alex Brown. He was already on the radar of some schools when we first introduced him but he got a chance to hear the words every recruit longs to hear on Wednesday.
"You've got an offer."
Brown told us exactly which school uttered those words to him.
"Navy just offered," Brown told us.
He informed us that he was extended the verbal offer by Navy coach Dale Pehrson.
"I have not given him an answer because I have a lot of schools inviting me to games and still in the recruiting process with me. I've got very good grades so a lot of schools really like that about me."
The offer obviously has Brown excited about the opportunity it brings and we asked him about his thoughts concerning Navy and he had this to say.
"Even if you take football out of it. They provide an awesome education. They actually got film on our running back and that's how they found me, watching film of him."
Brown stated previously that a strong education was going to be a major factor for his decision making process and that he'll sit down with his family and coach to help process all of the information about each and every school that has or will offer in the future. Brown reported that he holds a 4.3 GPA to us previously.
Right now Brown says he'll continue to train and work everyday during the off season so he can improve in hopes of landing even more offers. With a penchant for being a physical blocker it's obvious the Midshipmen took a liking to his ability to block. It's a trait that Brown takes extreme pride in since his team is primarily a run based offense.
SCPrepNation.com will have junior season film of Brown in action soon and will keep you up to date with the very latest regarding his recruitment so keep it dialed in right here for the very latest.
