Ashton Heard Profile

As one of the state's top running backs Ashton Heard was also one of the most successful in regards to statistics, awards, and most importantly as a two-time state championship winner. The Abbeville standout had a lot of schools showing interest in him but one in-state's pursuit of him helped him to decide to make his decision.

"I'm going to sign with North Greenville College," Heard told us.

So what sold him about the Crusaders' program?

"I'm just so wanted there unlike anywhere else. They make me feel special! And they have a great program also!"

The Crusaders just named a new head coach in Carroll McCray less than a week ago but the new coach has already spoken to Heard's mother about what his plans are to continue the program's success.

"He's supposed to call me soon so we can talk."

Heard says he's excited about the chance to play college football and getting his degree. Having had so much success thus far in his career Heard going to North Greenville could be a match made in heaven.
