SCPrepNation.com caught up with Wren defensive tackle D.J. Jones to talk about his recent selection to this year's Shrine Bowl team. He was a sleeper for quite some time but he's starting to emerge as he holds six scholarship offers currently. Check out what he had to say in this exclusive update.
"Yes I've always wanted to play in the Shrine Bowl. It's a dream come true for me."
"I was very happy and thankful when I found out that I'd made the team. I'm just looking forward to playing in the game and playing for my boys and family back home."
Right now Jones holds six scholarship offers currently. The latest pair coming from Louisiana Lafayette and Coastal Carolina. He talked briefly about both schools.
"They're both great schools and they're definitely schools I'm looking at possibly attending."
"Right now Appalachian State, North Carolina State, Gardner-Webb, and Louisiana Lafayette are recruiting me the hardest. I really don't have a timeframe set as far as when I plan on committing."
Looking to play in this year's Shrine Bowl Jones says he's looking forward to getting to know somebody he'll be lining up with all during the week probably.
"I'm really looking forward to getting to know Michael Hill from Pendleton better. I would really like to start in the Shrine Bowl too."
Wren's record is 7-2 after defeating a tough BHP on Friday night. Through 8 games Jones says he had 95 tackles and 6 sacks on the season.
