Clowney breaks South Carolina sack record

South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney broke the single-season sack record against Clemson on Saturday.

Jadeveon Clowney recorded 4.5 sacks against Clemson, giving him 13 sacks on the year, a new single-season school record.

The Nagurski Trophy finalist entered the Clemson game with 9.5 sacks on the year, just a half sack short of the season record of 10 sacks held by Melvin Ingram and Andrew Provence.

Clowney missed South Carolina's game against Wofford last weekend due to injuries.

He played against Clemson with an injured foot and a bruised knee.

Clowney plans to have surgery on the injured foot after the season. Recommended Stories
