Eddie Gordon Profile
Just a couple years removed from Boiling Springs High School center Eddie Gordon recently announced his intentions of transferring from North Carolina State University. The talented prospect sat down with SCPrepNation.com to talk in-depth about his game and just what it is that he's looking for in potential transfer destinations.
Gordon had this to say about possible destinations, "I want to transfer to a school with good people in the football program and great academics."
He talked about what he feels he improved upon the most during his time in Raleigh with the Wolfpack.
"I would say my work ethic. It wasn't until college that I saw my weight would be a big problem. I always did extra running after my workouts and on the weekend and watched what I ate."
In fact Gordon says he trimmed down from 335 pounds to 313 pounds on his 6'2 frame.
With his transfer from NC State comes a few restrictions and he shared those with us.
"No ACC schools, Richmond, Central Michgan, Maryland, and Louisiana Tech."
There are plenty of schools that Gordon is hoping to talk with soon in hopes of setting up possible visits in hopes of transferring. Gordon is looking to be in school by no later than second semester of summer classes he told us.
"I would love to hear from Appalachian State where my father played, Memphis, Middle Tennessee, Old Dominion, and any other programs in the South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia areas."
Gordon says he has already talked with some schools and plans on taking visits soon.
"I have been talking to South Carolina State and I will make a visit there. I will probably take one to East Carolina as well."
Gordon talked about where he feels his game is right now and what college coaches will want to know about him.
"I have great athleticism for a guy of my size and I work and play hard. I might be a bit undersized but those two things make up for that. I also have never had any off the field issues. I have a 2.7 in the classroom after my freshmen year."
He informed us that he is primarily a center prospect but has some experience at guard.
We'll keep you up to date about Gordon's upcoming decision so keep it right here with SCPrepNation.com!
