"I won LB MVP at the Rivals Camp today!" Belton messaged us on Sunday.
The camp stops have proved to be launching pads for Belton to show analysts and coaches that he's a playmaker that will succeed on the college level. He's got plenty of interested parties but he has yet to land that first scholarship offer. He talked about winning so many MVP awards at various camps has felt thus far.
"It's a blessing and it's just proof that a lot of hard work is paying off for me."
The day before the Rivals camp he was competing at the NFTC event in Charlotte and he shared with us how things went.
"I think I did pretty good. I was kind of tight from yesterday after NFTC but there's some stuff I can still work on."
Belton says one of the Rivals' coaches working his position had plenty of great things to say about his play on the field.
"Coach Woody he said he loves my style of play and the way I am physical. He said he doesn't know why I don't have any offers but he's going to try and get me some soon."
So what are Belton's plan for the immediate future?
"After today I think this might be the last camp until school camps but I'm going to Appalachian State next week for their Spring Game and Junior Day."
Appalachian State has said they want to offer but will only do so after meeting as a entire staff first. Belton has visited with the Mountaineers before and says he has established a good relationship with his recruiter Justin Stepp. We'll see if they become the first program to offer Belton or if someone else will be the first to ante up.
So what schools does Belton plan on camping with soon?
"Probably Georgia, Clemson, North Carolina, Duke and a few more depending on who all is interested. Hopefully I don't have to wait much longer on offers, I've been trying to get my rating up and after these camps I should have some good publicity."
SCPrepNation.com will have more updates with Belton as we anticipate his recruitment to follow his stock in an upward trend moving forward.
