Hassan Belton Profile

It has been a thing of beauty to see 2015 Blythewood linebacker Hassan Belton emerge and start to assimilate offers during these past few months. The 6'1 210 pound prospect picked up his 12th offer on Monday morning and we caught up with the 3-star to talk about his recruitment, camps, and what his timeframe is for committing possibly.

"Towson offered me this morning so now I'm at 12 offers," Belton said.

So how does it feel for Belton to currently sit on 12 offers?

"It's a blessing! It feels good to know that I'm going to be doing what I love on the next level and especially getting a free education. It shows that long years of hard work have finally paid off."

Holding offers from schools like Appalachian State, Charleston Southern, Coastal Carolina, Elon, Gardner-Webb, Georgia State, Mercer, South Carolina State, and Wofford Belton has been active on the camp circuit. He talked about some of the most recent camps he's attended and what those coaches have said to him.

"The last one I went to was East Carolina but I went to Louisville, NC State, North Carolina, and West Virginia before that."

"I think I impressed the most at Louisville and West Virginia. I talked to some of the coaches following and most of them said I did really good, that they want to see how I do the first 4 games before they make a decision on offering me."

Belton says he might hit one more camp in July with the Georgia Bulldogs and that it would be his last one.

Having talked with Belton for quite some time we asked him if he's changed his thoughts about when he might make a commitment.

"I'm planning on making my decision in late August or early September. I'm probably going to visit all my top schools one last time before I decide though."

He says he'll look at how comfortable he is with a school, being able to get a good education, and playing for a good football program with tradition will be key for him. He says he'll also look for a place that his parents like too because they will help him make that final decision as well.

To try and up his game and stock the 3-star shared with us some aspects of his game he's keyed on this off season.

"I've been working on my explosiveness and strength a lot to come down hill and make big plays."
