The Palmetto State will have not one but two starters in this year's NBA All-Star game. Former Mauldin High School star Kevin Garnett and former Eau Claire High School star Jermaine O'Neal will start at the power forward positions for the West and East All-Star squads respectively.
Garnett of the Minnesota Timberwolves will be making his 10th appearance in the All-Star game. That appearance was fueled by 1,616,575 votes during All-Star balloting. The former Mauldin Maverick is averaging 22.8 ppg, 12.4 rpg, 4.3 apg, and 1.9 bpg this season. This will also be Garnett's 8th time starting for the Western Conference All-Stars.
Jermaine O'Neal of the Indiana Pacers will be making his 6th appearance in the game. O'Neal is averaging 19.5 ppg, 10.4 rpg, and 3 bpg on the year currently. O'Neal is enjoying one of his best seasons as a pro this year and his selection this year broke an Indiana Pacers record of six All-Star selections in a row.
SCPrepNation.com will have more as the game is set to be played on February 18th in Las Vegas at UNLV's Thomas & Mack Center. The game will be televised on TNT.
