Kevin Garnett has finally been traded after weeks and weeks of speculation. The former Mauldin High star is leaving the Minnesota Timberwolves after 12 seasons and will now be playing in the Eastern Conference for the Boston Celtics.
In exchange for Garnett the Celtics sent the Timberwolves Al Jefferson, Ryan Gomes, Gerald Green, Sebastian Telfair, Theo Ratliff, two first round draft picks in the 2008 NBA draft, and cash considerations. The deal is the largest ever for one player.
Boston now emerges as one of the frontrunners in the Eastern Conference with a nucleus of Garnett, Paul Pierce, and Ray Allen who starred at Hillcrest Dalzell High School.
Garnett is also changing jersey numbers leaving behind #21 in Minnesota for #5 in Boston.
SCPrepNation.com will have more on Garnett as he continues his quest for an NBA championship with fellow Palmetto State baller Ray Allen at his side.
