Bryan's work in the classroom in fact moved him ahead 2 grades in school at one point. His academic status is definitely on an elite level but his parents thought things over and eventually held him back one year so he now sits one year ahead of the classmates that he started school with. His parents are both educators and in fact his father is the high school girls basketball coach at Glenn Hills High School in Augusta, Georgia and has a state championship and numerous trips to the final four to his resume. His father also laced it up for the South Carolina State Bulldogs during college.
We spoke with Bryan's AAU coach Curtis Wheeler about Narcisse. "Bryan is an honor student. He should be in the class of 2009 at his age. With him and his family education comes first. Bryan has offers from Western Kentucky, Presbyterian and SC State. He is also getting strong interest from Charleston Southern, Winthrop, and Harvard as well."
Wheeler also had this to say about Narcisse, "He has great potential. This young man will be very successful. He also played in Peach Jam Sweet 16 with Peach Jam Select (a local team made up of mainly players from North Augusta HS)."
SCPrepNation.com will have a more in-depth interview with Bryan Narcisse to talk more about his personal goals for this upcoming season with North Augusta High soon so stay tuned.
