Week 2 saw the #1 team in the state fall and some great performances. Come inside and see what players won our player of the week award for Week 2. Our offensive player of the week QB Richard Mounce (pictured) had a 6 touchdown performance. | |||
![]() Week 2 Offensive Player of the Week It's hard to pass on Andre Ellington when he helps them beat the Fort Dorchester Patriots and DE Robert Quinn, but Blythewood QB Richard Mounce had a performance that could not be denied. Mounce just passed for 286 yards and 6 touchdowns. Yes that's correct 6 touchdowns. He also ran for 80 yards too. Keep an eye on Mounce because he's one of the state's best quarterbacks and deserves more attention from colleges than he's been getting. The following players were on the short list of players we considered and make our honorable mention for Week 2:
![]() Week 2 Defensive Player of the Week RNE's Chris Bonds put together another strong performance showing why he's one of the state's most wanted players in the 2009 class. With 8 tackles, 3 TFL, and 2 sacks he's our defensive player of the week for Week 2. The following players were on the short list of players we considered and make our honorable mention for Week 2:
Week 2 Team of the Week No arguments on this one as the Greenville Red Raiders get the nod. Knocking off the defending AAAA Division 1 state champions Gaffney provided the Red Raiders with arguably their biggest win ever. Congrats to coach Jim Sosebee and his team.
