Approximately two weeks ago, LowCountry residents received a scare when they learned that 4-star defensive end prospect, Robert Quinn, had to undergo an emergency procedure to have a brain tumor removed. Well, after undergoing successful surgery, Quinn has been making a miraculous recovery. SCPrepNation.com just recently ran into Quinn, and spoke with him regarding his health and future.

Robert Quinn is doing just fine currently, and appears to be ahead of schedule in regards to his recovery. At least that’s what we saw on this past Friday night. SCPrepNation.com spotted the 6-4, 240 pound defensive end on the sideline cheering on his team (Fort Dorchester) during the first round of playoff action. Quinn’s team was able to pull off a 24-21 road victory over the Goose Creek Gators.

After being down 21-7 at the half, the Patriots peeled off 17 unanswered points, including a 44 yard game-winning field goal by K Chris Kifer. It was an extremely emotional win for the Patriots to say the least, and Quinn could attest… “Man, I was going crazy, because I couldn’t do anything but watch,” Quinn said. “I was very excited for them because they pulled through, and now we’re moving on to the next round.”

Although it is unlikely for Quinn to suit up in a Patriots uniform again, he did have some very intriguing news too share with SCPrepNation.com. “The doctors told me that I’ll be able to play football next year whenever I go to college,” Quinn stated. “They also told me that I could wrestle this winter if I wanted to. They just want me to give it a little time to make sure everything goes ok.”

Robert Quinn realizes that he is extremely blessed to be alive amongst his family and friends. He is very grateful for the opportunity that was given to him. With that being said, Quinn would like to leave us with this message:

“Don’t ever take anything for granted, because it can be taken away from you at anytime. While you have the chance, just have fun with it. Admire the time you have with it, and don’t look at the negatives.” - Robert Quinn
