Ray Allen did it again. Arguably the NBA's best perimeter shooter Allen drained a three pointer against the Charlotte Bobcats at the buzzer to give his Boston Celtics a 96-95 victory.
The Bobcats were trying to pull off an early season upset of the Celtics but Allen was having none of it as he slid away from his defender once Paul Pierce received the inbounds pass with 4.7 seconds left. Pierce found Allen and the former Hillcrest Dalzell star calmly drained the game winner.
The former SC high school star actually had a rough go of it from the perimeter against the Bobcats. His nerves of steel though came through in the crunch as he'd finish with 14 points in the win.
Allen's teammate and former Mauldin High superstar Kevin Garnett paced the Celtics with 23 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 blocked shots, and 2 steals.
On the season Allen is averaging 19.6 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game. Garnett is averaging 20.9 points, 12.7 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 2.0 steals, and 1.5 blocks per game.
