Two thirds of the Big Three for the Boston Celtics hail from the Palmetto State. On Wednesday night Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett (pictured) helped to power Boston to a huge victory in game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals.

We've been tracking the success that the Boston Celtics have enjoyed with their 2 new acquisitions from last offseason as they are both former South Carolina high school stars. Wednesday night saw former Hillcrest Dalzell High standout Ray Allen find his shooting stroke in a big way against the Detroit Pistons.

Allen has been in a mild shooting slump as of late but he does what shooters do best, keep shooting, and things got on track for one of the league's very best shooters ever. Going for 29 points Allen along with former Mauldin High standout Kevin Garnett headed the charge as the Celtics won a 106-102 thriller. Garnett posted a game high 33 points and 7 rebounds on the night. The Celtics nearly blew a 17 point lead but managed to hold on in the closing minutes. The win put Boston up 3-2 in the Eastern Conference finals. The Celtics are looking to punch their ticket to the NBA Finals in game 6 at Detroit on Friday.
