UP NEXT: 2010 Woodland RB/OLB Nagui Wright

RB/OLB Nagui Wright

SCPrepNation.com just recently introduced football fans across the Palmetto State to Woodland High's QB Robert Smith. Well today, we are going to introduce to you to his teammate, RB/OLB Nagui Wright. Come inside to learn more about the talented 2010 prospect from Woodland High School, in this segment of our UP NEXT series.

Last fall, Woodland High's pass-happy offense was led by gifted signal caller, Robert Smith. However, when the Wolverines took a break from their aerial attack, they relied on running back, Nagui Wright, for their ground duties. As a sophomore last fall, Wright reported 650 yards on the ground and 13 touchdowns.

The rising junior also starred on the defensive side of the ball for Woodland last season. "Last year I played a little bit of outside linebacker too," Wright said. "I had about 125 tackles. I also had 4 interceptions and 4 sacks."

After a strong sophomore campaign on the field, the 5-11, 180 pound athlete has been receiving letters in his mailbox from quite a few big-time programs. "I've been getting letters from schools like Clemson, Notre Dame, Georgia, Maryland, and Tennessee," Wright said. "They've been sending me a bunch of letters about their camps; stuff like that."

Nagui has not attended any individual camps this summer. However though, he has participated in a few passing leagues with his team. Having that being said, there is one in particular that sticks out. "I went to a passing league at Clemson," Wright said. "Team-wise we did pretty well. We won 6 games out of 7. I did pretty well also. I had 4 like interceptions."

Nagui informed SCPrepNation.com that he's been working diligently to elevate his game on the gridiron, and that last year was only a sneak preview of what's to come in the near future. If that's the case, the town of St. George will be in for a real treat this fall…

Stay tuned with SCPrepNation.com as we continue to bring you more on this up and coming prospect from Woodland High School.
