Jeremiah McKie Anxious To Improve His Stock

A McKie will lead the Mauldin Mavericks once again next season but this time 2011 QB/WR Jeremiah McKie won't have brother Joshua McKie there to help dazzle the crowds. All signs point to Jeremiah making his own big splash in the recruiting ranks and we caught up with McKie to talk the very latest regarding his plans for the offseason and improving his stock.

Looking back at the sophomore numbers for 2011 Mauldin High QB/WR Jeremiah McKie this past season it's obvious that his talent has all the signs of being ready for the next level. We caught up with the Mauldin standout to talk about what his offseason plans are looking like and what position most schools taking an early peek are considering him at.

McKie told us that no schools in particular are keeping in constant contact with him. That has also led to Jeremiah being wide open to all comers who show strong interest. Big brother, Joshua, is set to graduate and head to North Carolina next season. Would the Tar Heels have the inside track for landing Jeremiah if they chose to come after him? "I hope they will."

Right now the 2011 prospect lines up all over the field for the Mavericks as you can see looking over his statistics. What position are the schools who have already made contact looking at possibly placing McKie at? "Most schools are recruiting me as a quarterback and wide receiver."

In order to step up his game even further a rigorous offseason is in the works McKie says. "I will be working very hard on my speed, arm strength, and physical strength this offseason." Along with that you can expect McKie to make his presence known on the camp and combine circuit as well. "I will be active in the camps. I hope to work on a few more little things before I get into the combine circuit though."

Before heading to the combines and next season McKie said, "I hope to get my 40 time down to at least a 4.6 and get stronger."
