Allendale-Fairfax standouts, Bashaud Breeland and Jerrell Priester have pretty much established their identities in the recruiting world. However, there is another name from out of A-F that has been emerging on the recruiting scenes lately. And that name is Edwin Wesley.
Wesley played a vital role up front for the Tigers in ’08, and helped them establish a successful running game on last season. And due to his productive performance on the field last fall, the 6-2, 295 pound OL has manage to catch the attention of quite a few FCS programs throughout the southeast region. “There are a few schools looking at me right now,” Wesley told SCPrepNation.com. “I’ve been getting stuff from Georgia Southern, South Carolina State, Appalachian State, and Florida A&M. I’ve been mainly getting stuff from the smaller DI schools.”
The 2010 sleeper has been to a number of combines this summer, including this year’s Scout.com Combine in Charlotte. He also made a trip out to Statesboro to camp with Georgia Southern University. And although the SOCON program didn’t offer him on the spot, he informed us that the GSU Coaching Staff will be keeping a close eye on him this fall.
The 2008 MEAC Champions will also be keeping a close eye on Edwin’s performance this fall… “South Carolina State has probably been coming on the hardest out of everybody,” Wesley said. “They really like my size, and they feel like they can work with me. My Coach also has a real good relationship with South Carolina State.”
Wesley doesn’t plan to attend any more camps/combines this summer. As for now he will continue preparing for this final season with the Tigers, who are expected to make a lot of noise in their region this fall...
We will certainly have more on this talented 2010 prospect in the near future, so stay tuned for much more!
