SC Running Back Checks Out GT!

SC Running Back Checks Out GT!

This 5-10, 205 pound running back prospect recently took a trip to Georgia Tech to check things out a little closer. And after seeing what all they have to offer, he's had nothing but great things to say about the ACC contender. Inside, we bring you a one-on-one interview of this intriguing 2011 prospect.

One on One With Jarrell Knighton

SM: What were some of the things that stood out to you regarding the campus/surroundings while visiting Georgia Tech on this past weekend?

JK: All of the students were having a good time. Also GT is not in a bad spot because it's in close distance to everything in Downtown Atlanta. At the end of practice the baseball team was getting ready to play Clemson so that was pretty exciting to see too.

SM: What are your personal thoughts regarding their athletic facilities?

JK: GT's athletic facilities are great. I have never visited facilities like Tech's. I was very excited when I walked inside, and I wasn't disappointed whenever I walked out. We got to meet the strength coach and he showed me the weight room and explained the things they do within the strength program.

SM: Why do you feel like GT would be such a perfect fit for you?

JK: GT would be a perfect fit for me because I love to run power football, and it seems GT runs the football 90% of the time. I am also looking at majoring in engineering, and GT has one of the top programs.

SM: Which coach has been primarily recruiting you from the GT Coaching Staff?

JK: Coach Sewak

SM: Tell me a little bit about your relationship with him.

JK: Well Coach Sewak and I are becoming very good friends. Coach Sewak is a very good person, and we get along very well.

SM: Do you feel like Georgia Tech is close to offering you?

JK: Coach Sewak said it could be possible over the next few weeks. But they really want me to get up there this summer for their camp, so they can get a look in person of what I can do with the football in my hands. We didn't throw a lot last year so they want to see my receiving skills, since they throw a lot to their A-Backs.

SM: How would an offer from GT make you feel, personally?

JK: Well, an offer from GT would make me feel very good. It has always been my goal to play football in college, and I really think Tech would be a great fit for me.

SM: Which school(s) do you plan on visiting next?

JK: I plan on attending camps or visiting GA Tech, UAB, Clemson, South Carolina, North Carolina, Furman, and The Citadel as of right now. And I may possibly go to Duke or NC State…
