2012 PF Brandon Bolden has stepped up his game this offseason and his efforts aren't going unnoticed. Rolling with the Celtics South AAU program Bolden has been on a tear lately on the circuit. His strong play has earned him his second scholarship offer and we have an update on the athletic post prospect.
"Brandon has been ripping it up on the circuit and he got another offer. This one is from Virginia Commonwealth," Celtics coach George Burgess told us.
"There are a lot of new schools showing interest in him lately too. Virginia Tech, Clemson, Xavier, Tennessee, and Florida are a few that are after him pretty hard now. South Carolina, Maryland, Ole Miss, and Baylor are on him too."
One of Bolden's biggest performances this offseason came at the Kentucky Hoopfest. On day two he had Bruce Pearl watch him really closely according to Burgess. Then Billy Donovan came to watch Bolden in action during a tourney in Indianapolis on day three.
The Sumter High standout has also grown a little over the course of the summer as well. Burgess says Bolden checks in now at 6'10 195 pounds.
"He still has an offer from Georgia. Right now Tennessee, Xavier, and Virginia Tech are hot on his trail. They could be the next schools to offer him."
