KF: Talk a little bit about the camps you made it out to this offseason.
AAC: Well BYU's camp went pretty good, on the first day we did mostly just drills and worked on footwork. Then we took a break and we scrimmaged a little. We split into teams and also did some one on ones. I did really good, didn't get beat once. The coaches said they noticed that too. Coach Tidwell (BYU LB coach) asked me to do an invididual workout with some drills and change of direction, ballskills. He really conditioned me pretty good. Coach Mendenhall asked me if I wanted to commit and I told him I wasn't ready yet.
I also went to the All-Poly Camp. We did NCAA Clearinghouse stuff to get qualified first through the NCAA and I liked that. It wasn't full pads the first day. We did some drills on first day. The second day I saw the LB coach from Utah and he told me they were moving to the Pac-10. He told me that they wanted to see me do a workout afterwards. They matched me up with Harvey Langi, #11 rated RB on Scout. I worked out with him and I did really good. I beat him twice and he beat me once. The Utah coach then asked me over and gave me a verbal offer after we did some goalline stand work.
KF: Talk a little about how it felt to get the offer from Utah.
AAC: It felt great, them being in the Pac-10 puts them on the map more and they don't have to upset the BCS now. I like the coach there. We have a good connection and he played at BYU. It really surprised me when they offered I wasn't expecting it. I had a good feeling they liked me and wanted to wait until September 1st but they wanted to go ahead and tell me they were going to verbal so I'd know.
KF: What are your goals heading into your junior season at Greer?
AAC: My goals are to get over 100+ tackles, have at least 5 sacks, and not get injured. Hopefully we can make it to state next year.
KF: What areas has you improved the most this offseason you feel?
AAC: My feet have gotten faster and my hips are more flexible than they were. Overall I need to work on my pass coverage and I've been getting better than that. I want to be more versatile to be able to play inside and outside linebacker.
