This young man has been on the road hard and heavy the past couple of weeks, participating in a number of football camps. We are talking about Fort Dorchester High School cornerback prospect, Tyler Walker. The talented Low Country cover man recently filled us in on where he’s been so far. “I went to The Citadel, Georgia Southern, Gardner Webb, and Furman the week before last,” Walker told SCPrepNation.com in a recent interview. “And I also went up to North Carolina State on last week.”
“I really enjoyed all of them,” Walker continued on. “But the Gardner Webb and NC State camps were probably the top two. NC State was probably the most intense out of all of them. The competition level was real high out there.”
Although the NC State camp had a number of high-profiled athletes in attendance, the Palmetto State recruit informed us that he more than held his own amongst the elite. And his position coach felt the same way. “He told me that he really liked me,” Walker said. “He told me that I have good footwork, and good hips. He didn’t really say how high I was on their board or anything like that. But he said that he was going to be keeping in touch with me, because they are going to be recruiting hard for corners.”
According to the 2010 sleeper, he is not quite finished making his rounds. “I’m supposed to be going to PC (Presbyterian College) for a camp,” Walker said. “More than likely I’ll be going to the Charleston Southern Camp as well. And someone just recently got in touch with me from Jacksonville State. So I may camp there as well.”
We will continue to keep you up to speed on how things progress for Mr. Walker as he continues to make his rounds on the 2009 Summer Camp Circuit. Stay tuned for much more.
